The short answer is, yes.
You have the right to select a retailer of your choice.
But it's important to note that only a portion of your bill can be switched. An average electricity bill typically comprises two main components:
- Energy: This refers to the actual amount of energy used.
- Network (poles and wires): Costs associated with the infrastructure required to deliver electricity to your premises.
In the event that you choose another energy retailer, a process referred to as moving "on-market", seene will continue to invoice you for the Network portion of your bill and your energy retailer will invoice you for your Energy consumption (meaning you'll get two bills).
If you want to switch, you should always let the other retailer know that your property is located within an embedded network, as the preferred method of transfer can vary amongst providers. For example, some may need you to replace your meter.
At seene, we want to transparent with customers and do everything we can to assist. If you have any questions about the on-market process, please get in touch!
