What are my rates?
Our rates and charges vary from site-to-site as they depend on the location of the building, services offered, network tariff, and the general cost of supplying energy to your specific site.
You can find your rates and charges in the Welcome Pack or on the Portal when you register an account with us.
Why do rates change?
Our energy charges are typically adjusted annually & we'll let you know before this happens. We vary pricing only as necessary when there is a change to the cost of energy or services supplied to your address.
These can include, but are not limited to, wholesale energy, distribution and network, operational and maintenance costs, or if there's any law or regulation that introduces new fees.
It's also worth noting that at seene we procure energy using our bulk buying power to get the best prices for you, the customer. These agreements are usually multi-year deals that help us to shield customers from volatile market changes.
Why are my rates going up?
Rates can change for many reasons, but in recent years they've gone up more times than they've come down.
There are many publicly available resources, such as the Victorian Default Offer published by the ESC, or the Default Market Offer published by the AER, which give an indicative view of the changes that impact electricity prices.
If seene supply the Hot Water service to your building, it may be heated by gas rather than electricity. Information about wholesale gas prices can be tricker to find, but AEMO and the AER both provide regular reports on market trends.
Are my rates competitive?
Absolutely! Our rates are always set well below each region's reference price. The reference price is set by the Australian Government’s Default Market Offer, which is the maximum annual bill that a customer on a standing offer should receive if they use the average amount of electricity in your area.
Customers are always welcome to compare and speak to us about their plan if they want more help. We can also assist customers find out if they're eligible for any concessions or rebates.
